Baby steps with DS's speech....

And I mean ITTY BITTY baby steps.  But at least it's something!  His babbling has really picked up, it's awesome.  Last night we asked him what a cow says and he went "Mmmmmmmm." He will also point to a lion/tiger and try to roar, but it actually just sounds like he's coughing up a hairball, lol.  But I'm counting it for something!
Happy 4th birthday!

  • YEAH mathew!  Does he need to borrow amza's lion costume for inspiration?

  • Yeah!  Itty bitty baby steps are moving in the right direction.

  • Have you had him evaluated?  We are waiting for our first appt for speech therapy through Early Intervention right now so I know what you mean.  A month ago DS had some words but not a lot and most were just first sounds (ga for eye glasses) and he does not do animal sounds but since his evaluation he actually tries to make words and sometimes really does.  He's a little more than a month older than your DS.  Now he will say "eye gla" and I want to jump for joy.  Animal sounds are a great step, they were looking for that with DS' evaluation!
