Always be over prepared!!!

I learned a very valuable lesson this weekend.  My mom, daughter and I went shopping at the local mall for a few things this past Sat.  I did not think we would be there for long so had one bottle for the short trip. ( I left her diaper bag in the car with all the other bottles in it.)  Well our short trip got derailed as there was a double shooting at the mall and we got locked down for 5 hours.  So needless to say my little one was starving.    Thank goodness we were locked in Nordies and there was a cafe there so I got creative and ground up a whole wheat cracker to make some make shift oatmeal for her.  I had just given Addie her bottle before the lock down went into force so I knew she was not going to starve to death, but it was some scary stuff and nothing I ever want to go through again!  So moral of the story...always have MORE then enough supplies even if you think you are only going to run in and out of a place.

You are definitely right about being prepared... and it's always needed when you think "Oh, this is just a quick trip, we won't need anything..."  HA!!

How scary!  I'm glad you are okay!  excellent improv by you, I'm sure Addie appreciated that her mom got creative!

Oh I just heard that on the radio, South Center right? I live in Vancouver, WA not too far from there. I'm glad you are all OK. That's scary.
