What kind of syringes do you use w Heparin?

The pharmacy suggested I try insulin syringes. They are very tiny so it doesn't hurt going in, but on the flip side it takes forever to do the shot.  What kind are you using?

  • ones that hurt! LOL

I think 25 ml/gauge ones... they are small.... but not as small as the lovenox ones....

  • Mine are "BD Allergy Syringes" .. I don't know what gauge they are.. but pretty small. They hold 1 ML each, but I only use .25 ML each time.

  • I cannot fathom why I am on .8mL THREE times per day.  It seems like so much more than everyone else?????  Thanks for your syringe ideas...keep them coming.  I've got to get a new kind because it hurts so bad waiting on that tiny insulin syringe to get the .8mL out.
  • That does seem like a lot..Although,  I think I am on a relatively low dose compared to others I have seen here, I think most have said .5 ml 2x a day, and I am on .25ml 2x a day.

My shots USUALLY don't hurt.. and when they do..its more the needle stick, not the actual injection part.
