I just read the article and I can tell you that I did IVF. My 2 children who were not products of IVF were still premature. My youngest was born at exactly 35 weeks and my oldest at 36 weeks and several days. My twins were the product of IVF. We chose to do the responsible thing and limit to 2 embryos. I think this article and those like it draw negative attention to those few doctors that lack ethics and will transfer any amount of embryos into a woman. The rate of HOM while using IVF isn't high. In fact, it's about 3% of a rate that ALL those who use IVF may end up with multiples.
If ART were paid for by all insurances I don't think we'd be seeing the amount of HOM. We didn't have to pay for ours (expect for the deductible which was 500). IMO, it's a sad world when insurance will pay for viagra, tubals and vasectomies but not for ART.
