I gained about 6-7 lbs. At my doc's appt today I got the speech about how it's harder to lose than gain and it was suggested that i watch my carb intake. this takes all the fun out a pregnancy.
I lost like 4 lbs in the first tri, and then lost another 4 1/2 at my 16 week appt, and I got reamed for losing weight. I've decided that Dr's just aren't happy no matter if you lose or gain. They are going to say something.
I put on 8 pounds at my 12w appt, and then 1 pound since. And I am completely fine with that. But I did get "the speech" at the 12w appt, about how I was only supposed to gain 3.5 lbs so far, and how I should "lay off the food". Thanks biitch!
I gained 6 pounds during my first trimester. My OB/GYN didn't say a word about it being too much. Granted, I'm pg with twins, but, still, it doesn't sound like a lot to me.
oye. now i feel worse. i was one of the lucky ones who escaped without m/s...the downside is that i can eat and do so regularly. i'm gonna push 200 lbs by the time i give birth at this rate.
I gained less than half a pound between when I found out I was pregnant and my 16 week appointment (I didn't lose weight at all, just pretty much maintained). I go in for an ultra sound next week and am hoping I've gained a little something.
I gained about 6-7 pounds also. Weight gain is dependent on your pre-pregnancy weight and height, and in general people who are heavier pre-pregnancy are guided not to gain as much weight as people who were thinner to start.
I only gained 1/2 lb and my Dr told me it's healthy to gain btw 3-5 lbs your fist trimester... my mom said it was hard for her to keep on wieght too and she blew up lik a baloon in the end, I think that's where I get it from
I lost 20lbs over the first few months ... I ate smaller portions more often and it just fell off. I've put on 5 lbs in the past month though. Appetite is coming back with a vengence!

I think about 5 lbs. I'm up 8 now though, I swear I watch what I eat, I even track in sparkpeople but my body just enjoys gaining weight. eh, but it's par for the course, weight's always been an issue for me.
Re: How many lbs did you gain during the 1st tri?

I was up 13lbs at my 16 wk appt. and the doctor said my weight gain was fine.
I'm scared to see what it is tomorrow. I'm sure it's at least another 5 - 6lbs.
I gained 7lbs...I thought the 'norm' is to gain 10lbs per trimester...why would your doctor give you the 'speech'?? That is dumb..
3 pounds, but then I lost it all after having a 72 hour migraine in my 14th week that almost hospitalized me.
I'm up a total of 8 pounds now at 20 weeks

Plus some doctors are just jerks.
Who are you people gaining 1 or two pounds? LOL.
I guess maybe after only 1st tri...but no, I've pretty much gained 1 pound per week ever since finding out I was pregnant.
SORRY : I

I didn't gain anything in the first tri, but I was also pretty sick. I just started gaining weight in the last two weeks though.
