Re: Anyone live in San Antonio?

  • I'm not from SA but am from Austin.  I've eaten at a lot of places on the Riverwalk; most of which I think are overpriced and not very good.  I'd recommend the County Line (BBQ) which is really good.  They're found in SA and Austin.  YUM!  Have fun!  The riverwalk is so romantic and fun! :)

  • We were down there in October and a friend who lives there recommended Boudros -  www.boudros.com. We didn't eat there because we wanted Mexican but it looked good!

  • DH says the Sheraton has a great jazz bar, and he likes ***'s Last Resort, but I'm guessing that's not really ROMANTIC.  But he hasn't been there in eons.

  • We used to go to SA all the time. I love Mi Tierra. It's by the Riverwalk closer to the Market. Great mexican food.

  • Oh, p.s., Boudros is a little more expensive/upscale... white tableclothes! :)
  • I recommend Casa del Ria's.  It is right on the Riverwalk, not super pricey and good good GOOD Mexican food :)  Aww, now I miss San Antonio (its my roots!)

  • I agree Casa del Ria's is amazing!

  • It's actually Casa Rio.  Not trying to be snarky but I didn't want you to look forever for Casa del Rias.  :)  Boudros is to die for but yes you will walk out for two of you paying about $80-90.  It is so worth it!  Go to Casa Rio for lunch and Boudros for dinner.  I hate to say it but don't waste your time on the Alamo unless history is really really interesting to the two of you.  There is a Piano Bar at Pat O'Brians but it's pretty smoky and you won't be able to drink their Hurricane's but if it doesn't bother you it's a ton of fun.   Go to La Villita (downtown) it's a little shopping area with little cute shops and a glass makers shop.  Also, when you're on the River Walk go on one of the little tour boats that take you down the River Walk, I think it's only like $8 a person but it will be fun.  I think it's better at night but make sure you bring a jacket because it's even colder out on the boat then it is walking around.  That should keep you busy . . . but if not we have a great zoo and a few great museums too.  Maybe you could even catch a Spurs game if you really feel adventurous.  :)
  • Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. We have been to SA before, but it has been a while. We have done the Alamo thing and wont be doing that again.?

I wish we were there now so we could start our relaxing babymoon.?
