Do any of your DHs go OOT?

I know there are some of you on here with deployed DHs (I'm extremely thankful to them - and you - by the way)... Does anyone else have a traveling DH?  Does anyone else not get to spend holidays with their DH?

My DH is out of state Monday - Thursday every week.  If there is a holiday he works from home that week.

My DH goes OOT. He will be oncall on christmas unless our baby is born then he has a chance to be home. Def. sad, but its part of the job. Something Im really going to have to get used to. But we will just be celebrating on a diff. day if that happens

He is a firefighter so he is not away but has to work 24 hrs. So I will not be with him on christmas and have not been for the last 6 yrs.

I don't get to spend christmas with mine. ?Our story is a little different. ?We are not married, nor planning on it. ?He has a 10 year old son that lives several states away. ?He goes "home" for christmas and I don't join him. ?My mother is alone near where we live and I feel like he should spend that time with his son without the distraction of me.

Mine leaves on Sundays to go OOS and works there til Thursdays when he comes home. We're 'newlyweds' so I thought it'd be hard, but I just started my own side business and been really busy with work so it goes by fast. FWIW we got married in June and he got this job in July so it's still 'new'.

I can barely get MH to travel out of our apartment.

DH has to go OOT once every few months for 1-2 weeks.  It's not fun, but it's not all bad either.

Oh, it's nice to know I'm not alone!  DH is gone anywhere from 4-6 days at a time with a few off in between.  And we can forget about holidays, they don't usually happen. We celebrate them on diff. days, too. 

So here's my next question:  What do you do while he is away that you would never do while he is there?

Me, I leave the place a mess!  Then when he gets home it's magically clean again!

Lol...  Sometimes when they leave it is a good thing! Especially when he's driving me crazy.  But it's nice to look forward to him coming home, too.

I am a total slob when he is gone. ?He also travels for 3-4 nights at a time every other month or so to visit his son or for work.

I stay in my pjs, eat in bed, leave dishes all over, watch horrid reality tv, eat terrible food like ramen noodles and mac & cheese.....?

I think we're related... I do all of that too! But I eat in the living room and leave all the dishes until RIGHT before he gets home... It's disgusting!
