TTC after 35

New to this board

Hi there...... I am new to this board and wanted to introduce myself.   I have been on the TTTC board for a while now, but since I am over 35 and we can all use as much support as possible, I thought it would be nice to be here as well.  I am 39 and DH is 42 and we have been trying for a while now (2+ yrs) and working with an RE since April 08.  I have done 4 rounds of Clomid and 2 IUI's with the RE.  Currently we are on a break because DH had varicocele surgery in Oct, so we have to wait until Jan to have another SA.   If the SA results come back good, we are going to do a couple more rounds of Clomid with either IUI or TI.  If that does not work, we are skipping the injectables and moving right to IVF.  This was at the reccomendation of the RE since we are paying 100% oop and he did not see the need to spend the money for a couple injectable cycles  when we could be spending that money on IVF and have much better odds.  DH and I agreed that this was the best route for us.  That's pretty much it in a nut shell.

Welcome.  I am a newbie too but we recently started with a RE in August.  DH just decided to have SA done(nothing like waiting 3 months) and we are awaiting the results of that.  I give anyone paying OOP a TON of credit.  I can only imagine the expense!  Best of luck to you and a BFP!

Welcome and good luck! Hope the IVF is successful.

And I feel you with paying out of pocket... if it comes down to it, MH and I will be in the same boat.

Welcome! January is around the corner and in the meantime enjoy your break with your husband, you need it! We would be paying OOP too if it comes to that, since our insurance only covers diagnostic testing. Sucks.
