gender of the baby? We have our big u/s on Friday and I'm really hoping my Dh will change his mind and want to know what we're having once we're there. I'm keeping my eyes, toes, fingers, and legs crossed.
I havent changed my mind, even with people getting mad at me for not finding out.
The only reason hubs wants to know is so he can research shotguns...but we'll see. We didnt find out for the first, and it was great!
Mother to Gavin, born September 11, 2007, and Magdalena, born March 21, 2009, Angel Baby MC February 13, 2010, Cynthia, born August 28, 2010 and gone September 17, 2010, Gabriella, born and gone August 28, 2010, and Abigayle, born March 12, 2012
We were planning to know all along, so that wasn't an issue. However, if you're on the fence, why not bring along an envelope and ask the tech/doctor to write the gender down and seal it in the envelope? That way, in case you change your mind(s) at any time during the pregnancy, you can find out! Or bring two envelopes, one for you and one for DH, and you can each decide on your own whether to open it or not--that is, if you can keep the secret from one another!
I was never dead set on finding out, I would have been ok with not knowing, really. But my husband HAD to know or apparently, he'll die or something. And he is the worst secret keeper ever. So we're both finding out! We think maybe a later pregnancy will be a surprise, after we have tons of stuff from previous pregnancies.
DH wanted to know. I changed my mind the morning of the u/s. it was kinda an early bday present for DH, but I am not going to lie. I am so glad we did. It has really helped me bond more with the baby.

Thank you! I really wanna know but I can't keep a secret that big too myself. I think I will tell him that if we find out whether we are having a boy or girl we can bond with the child better;-) You ladies are the best! I also loved the envelope idea.
And I totally ditto being able to bond with the baby better! Before we knew our little guy's gender, it all seemed to abstract to me, and I just didn't feel all that connected to him. Now that we know he's a boy and have his name chosen, I feel a much closer bond with him!
We didn't find out with DS, and it was fun. We were going to find out with this one, but were kind of on the fence about it. Well, we tried, and baby wasn't giving up the goods for anything, so we won't be finding out until March.
I want to, DH does and doesn't want to...so we'll see on the 17th of December how it goes! ?It will be hard to keep the secret to ourselves, so if we do find out we will probably tell everyone at Christmas.
