Pregnant after a Loss

Maternity Pics...yes or no????

Did you or are you planning on having maternity pictures taken??? I am trying to figure out if I want to or not...such decisions...

I don't feel that great about myself lately (since I feel like I am gaining all the weight in my face) but I am afraid that later down the road that I will regret not having them done???

BTW...our photographer charges $400 for the shoot, 2 5X7's, and a cd with all the images. Does that seem like a "typical" price???

Re: Maternity Pics...yes or no????

  • I'd like to, but I can't justify spending money on that when there are so many other things we need to buy : (

  • I'm way into scrapbooking, so I got my maternity pics done at Target, I was happy with them, but not with the price which was $85 for an 8 x 10 and two 5 X7s, so compared to your $400 I guess it's not bad! :) I think it's a fun thing to have and everyone I showed them too really liked them, I'm sure your DC will enjoy them too when they are older to see how they were in mommy's belly. a good tip...I brought the tiny shoes I bought for her and got a picture with me holding them on my belly.
  • I'm going to wait until I'm about 28-30 weeks. A family friend who likes to take pics is going to do it for us. Nothing fancy, just a couple of photos of us & the belly. Like pp, this will be something Jolie can look back on and see how big she made her Mommy get....
  • I am planning on doing these as well, but will be going to JCPenney. They have some wonderful ladies who do a great job! I should know, I used to work there! :) Price can be reasonable too! I couldn't justify spending $400 on pics. But that's just me.

  • I wanted to, but DH laughed at me when I asked him about it.  He doesn't see the need and doesn't want to spend the money. I'm a bit disappointed because I think they're great.

  • My cousin is an aspiring professional photographer, so I'm going to ask her to do them when I am in Cali over Christmas (I'll be 24 weeks, so a little smaller than most).  Otherwise, I think $400 is a very reasonable price for a professional photo shoot with digital rights....I've definitely seen much more expensive.
  • I wish you lived near me!  My DH is a photographer and does not charge $400!  He did my Bff's and they are so great!  I can't wait for him and his partner to do mine/ours...if you can swing it in the budget, I would get them done..I think they are great!!
