Help for gassy newborn

DD is 4 weeks old and miserable with gas right now.  I've tried mylicon and everything I can think of but nothing seems to help.  I can't think of anything I've eaten that would cause so much trouble for her.  Any suggestions to help her feel better?  Thanks!

Re: Help for gassy newborn

  • DS got Mylicon with every feeding for months. They can have it up to 12 times a day.

I also had to cut onions, broccoli, cabbage, chocolate, caffeine, and a few other things from my diet.

Bicycle her legs to get the gas out.

  • P had this problem too. We just kept him upright a lot after he ate, made sure he burped everytime, I avoided any gassy foods (including garlic) and gave him Mylicon drops all the time. Not sure if there is anything else you can do. Eventually, as he got a few weeks older, the gassiness got a lot better.

  • The most likely explanation is dairy in your diet.
