Adult braces/TMJ/oral surgery
Have you had this? What has been your experience? I have what I think is TMJ but, we won't know for sure until I get xrays (which is going to be at least a week) I went to an orthodontist who told me I need a splint in my mouth to fix the TMJ, then braces then oral surgery to fix my bite.
WTF- can't I just get braces? This is going to be $20K+ with me footing $10K of the bill.
I feel like I am being "sold" on the whole package. Thoughts?

I had braces at 19 years old they consider that adult. I hated them. But I got the metal kind, if I did it all over again I would go with invislign (sp?).
About TMJ - are you having problems chewing/biting? It really is your choice. You really have to watch out in this economy.
