LOL....oh Target, you dumbasses

I KNEW it was too good to be true, but whatevs.

The only thing I don't get is how someone on here called Target last night and the customer service rep told her the Britax price at least was legit. ????? WTF is up with that?

  • I'm thinking the Target peeps last night had no clue what was going on.

You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
  • As did I, and THAT is where I am coming from now.  I DID NOT just place a random order willy-nilly on their website, I confirmed twice with two different customer service representatives.  Their website disclaimer covers their website, not their employees.

Doubt it'll come to anything, but heck, I'm sick in bed Nesting tonight anyway, might as well have the phone next to me on speaker!

  • All the CSRs can do is look at the system and see what the price is.  Last night it was $42, they were being honest with you.  They have no connection to the actual pricing of items.  I'm sure they raised a red flag after a couple hundred people called in and started an investigation which resulted in them shutting down the SKU last night and cancelling the order today.
  • They should not have answered it was legit if they did not definitely know it was. By doing so I think they made a strong case for Target to quietly honour the deal and take it out of their paychecks. After all they had no place to say so without info.
  • They did have info.  They looked at their point of sale and saw the price was listed as $42, just like you looked at the website and saw the price was $42.  Apparently that was a mistake.  By creating a user name and password login to Target.com and placing an order with them, YOU AGREE TO THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS.  They might have fine print that says they get to come to your house and murder your pets.  But if you click and don't read it - it's your fault.  Their website states that if they get the price wrong, they will cancel the order and allow you to buy the item at the correct price.

It doesn't matter what they did.  You agreed to their terms when you went online to do business with them.  Don't shop there if you don't like it.

Easy, grasshopper.  My point is exactly the opposite: I placed the order with a rep, therefore the online fine print should not apply.  SHE should have to eat the difference.  She never said "gee, I only have access to the same information you do, sorry," she gave me a whole run around and FURTHER information as to why the pricing was such.

I'm not about to get up on a high horse, and I certainly am not saying I won't shop there.  They screwed up, and I was hoping they'd be willing to accept responsibility for their mistake, especially since they confirmed that their error was NOT an error--twice!

You can roll your eyes and play 'holier than thou' all you'd like.  I'm not freaking out, I'm not obsessing, but it's worth looking into, that's all.

After you're done looking into it, come back and let everyone know the results of your investigation.  They gave someone else a gift card earlier today, you might get one too.  Or a shiny medal!  Or vindication in the afterlife!  Keep me posted.

  • Yeah, I got my "compensation".  Don't worry.  Once it actually arrives, I'll be sure to tell everyone so that they can also call and get theirs.

My you are a snitty one.

  • "easy grasshopper" and "snitty" have both made me lol tonight.  I do appreciate funny nesties that make me laugh.  You are a gem!
