They are canceling all orders.

I just got off the phone with a supervisor.  I really think it is disgusting that Target is not taking some responsibility for their error.  Instead, they are just canceling everyone's order and pretending that it never happened.  Ridiculous.

Re: They are canceling all orders.

  • I kind of figured they wouldn't honor the prices but I think it is a crappy way to handle it.  I ordered a snowblower and the order is no where to be found on my account.  No email notification either.  They should have sent notification instead of just making them disappear!

  • Considering 99% of people thought how great it was that they were ripping off Target I don't  think it's ridiculous...

  • I think it's the "pretending it never happened" that irks me.  Fine, cancel the orders, but offer the COURTESY of a cancellation email, TYVM!

  • I didn't think I was ripping off target - I thought I was buying a product at a great price.

That's completely ridiculous!  I would have at least expected an email.

I didn't place my order until someone posted that they called Target and learned that the price was legit.  Not all of us were just trying to rip Target off.

I totally agree! It looks like I never even placed an order for the granite seat or the snowblower!

  • Question: who all saw the post about how someone called CS and they said it was a valid price?

Probably everyone who got the deal because of this board.

So, your theory on ripping off Target is far off - most people thought it was a valid (and great) deal because of that, not a mistake and therefore not ripping the company off.

  • Is Target related to my mother? Don't confront, just pretend the problem never happened.  LA LA LA LA. If we ignore it, it will go away.

I never saw that particular post last night- but I did see several where they figured it was a pricing error.

    I agree with this too.

  • Well perhaps before you accuse 99% of people here of gleefully ripping off Target you should read more posts.

Several people have posted that it was a valid price per a CS rep - or that Target regularly clearances out Britaxes in stores.  I think you just wanted to be nasty, honestly, and think it's funny that people didn't get the deal.  Which is fine, but don't go around accusing people of wantonly ripping off Target to support your bad attitude.

When I ordered the seat I didn't think I was ripping off Target, I thought it was a good deal - because I've seen their clearance prices in the past and heard stories of what you can get in store when they clearance out carseats and other baby gear.  THEN someone posted they had talked to a CS rep who said it was a valid price, which reinforced my initial thought.  In fact if I didn't have better things to do, I could probably go dig up all those posts for you.

All of that said, I don't care that I'm not getting the deal - I only care they didn't notify me because I am a good customer and I think that is shady business.  I will complain about that.

Thanks, eclaires!  That's pretty much everything I wanted to say.  I truly thought it was a good deal and that they were getting rid of overstock or something...It is very crappy on Target's part that they are just pretending like it's not their fault.

  • ditto eclaires - I never thought I was ripping off Target at all, just thought it was a great deal.  Kinda similar to how I'm really excited to be buying our backyard playset on Craigslist for a great price, but I certaintly don't feel like I'm ripping the seller off.  I like bargains.

Conversely, did Target feel like they were ripping ME off last year when I bought the Parents Busy Street cube in-store for $50, and then went on-line to buy another for my cousin and it was $200?!  Probably not.

  • I'll stand up then and say so what if some people (present company excepted) thought they were ripping off Target? If a business can't wear its own mistakes then it ought to suffer for them, and when a business routinely rips us off by inflating prices before clearances and other such practices people are totally entitled to rip the business off if they can legally do so.

I would consider ripping off Target (or any comparable business) as my right as a consumer. If they make a stupid mistake they should pay for it. End of story.?

  • They do have a policy on their site that says if the price was wrong and the item was more then what it was sold for they have the right to cancle the order.  When you buy the product from that store you agree to their terms and that is one of them.
