25 mo old, trouble napping

DD is 25 mo old. ?She has had the worst time falling asleep lately. ?She's good and doesn't cry in her crib or anything, but it is taking her over an hour to fall asleep? ?

?Has this happened with you, was it just a phase?

As it is, she goes down at like 130, today it was 145, and she still isn't asleep, and it is 325 now!!!

  • Ditto is all I can say.  Mine is upstairs still talking.  I am about to go get him and I already went in once to try to calm him down. We are at about an every other day nap now.

He will sleep from 8-7 then nap 2-3 hrs, next day no nap...bed at 7:30-7:30, next day he will nap and sleep about an hour less the next day. So he still averages in the 12-14 hrs, but naps are just hit or miss.

  • Yikes, sounds like dd. ?I just hate it if she doesn't nap, because if we go out in the car in the evening, she's out like a light and then has this same trouble going to bed at night.

I'm lucky, she doesn't cry or anything, the worst she does is take all of her clothes off, haha.?

  • It really goes in cycles for my DD.  When she was about 2 she really stopped napping every day. . . it's more like 3-4 days per week, but I enforce "quiet time."  She's always in her room for a minimum of 1.5 hours, more like 2.  We're lucky that she has no mood issues if she doesn't nap. . . she just doesn't always need to sleep, but she needs the downtime to read to herself, talk to herself, etc.
