I know, I know....this is probably something to ask the doctor. I'm just curious though. Has anyone taken Zicam or Airborne while pg? I'm leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday and I'm so paranoid I'll catch something that will ruin my trip. One of DH's friends just came down with a nasty cold yesterday and we had dinner with him on Friday. Hope I don't get it!
THx!
Re: Zicam or Airborne
Nevermind, just found this on pregnancy-info.net
"I am a toxicologist. Airborne is basically a massive amount of vitamins and minerals. Prenatal vitamins are a strong dose of vitamins and minerals. There is the possiblity to overdose on vitamins etc. Which is why you should not use both at the same time. Also as some of these compounds can cross the placenta (why you take prenatals) the risk is greater to the fetus. Zicam is different, it is a zinc compound which most people dont get enough of even on vitamins and is why your doctor said it was okay."
My doc said no to Airborne - you don't want to take too much Vitamin A, and you can accidentally get too much with Airborne.
BTW, they proved that Airborne does nothing anyway. They were refunding $$ to those who purchased it because it was determined to have no effect. I did love how it tasted though...
