whats your bedtime routine?

OK - i posted earlier about establishing good sleep habits and it seems the consensus was establishing a routine is key to eventually being a 'good sleeper' (whether that happens at 1 or 10) :)?

Whats your bedtime routine like (naptime too for that matter)?

or other things that help everyone get sleep at your house ...

Re: whats your bedtime routine?

  • Do you mean for when she's a bit older?  There's no routine needed for the first 3-4 months.  :) As much as you try, the best you can do is listen to her cues and follow her lead.  Most books and "experts" will tell you that 'sleep training' starts around 4 months.

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

    ?

yes - for 'future reference' - im completely on an 'on demand' sort of schedule with her this early on.?

  • Now it's dinner, bath, lotion, jammies, read about 3 books, say goodnight to daddy, turn music on quietly, rock with mommy for 10 or so minutes, into crib. Music turns off but we leave a fan on all night for white noise.

As a newborn there was no routine. As a little one it was dinner, bath, lotion, jammies, music, nurse to sleep.

He didn't go to sleep on his own or regularly sleep through the night until 18 months though...
