Miscarriage, baby, now another miscarriage

I need encouragement this morning :(  Was at hospital last night and miscarried.  I would have been 6 wks today.  I had baby wkk two years ago and prior to that I had a missed m/c in 2001.

Part of me is surprised, because I naively thought I was out of the woods since I had one baby turn out ok.

Has anyone here had mc/ baby/ mc then gone on to have another baby? I am 37, maybe I am getting to old for this :(

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.

If you haven't already, check out the Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss board.  there are a lot of really wonderful and supportive women over there.  They may have some more info for you.

I had a healthy pregnancy (DD), then 2 m/c's, followed by another healthy pregnancy (DS).

    DD1 - 12.25.05
    (m/c 1.17.07, m/c 5.15.07)
    DS - 03.15.08
    DD2 - 12.03.09
    DD3 - 3.28.11

  • (hugs) I am sorry for your loss.

You're not too old. I got pregnant with DS at 37, had him at 38, pregnant with this one at 39, and I am having a c/s in 2.5 weeks at the age of 40. You still have plenty of time.

  • I'm so very sorry.  When I went into the hospital for my m/c (between my two girls), the nurse assigned to me had exactly the same thing happen to her. She went on to have another healthy baby after her second m/c.  Don't think you're too old- I had DD#2 at 37 and know plenty of people my age & older who are still having kids.  Best of luck to you, especially in healing from your recent loss :o(
  • I am sorry about your loss.  I had a healthy baby, then a miscarriage, then another miscarriage, and then took progesterone pills during my next pregnancy and had another healthy baby.  The doctors thought that my body wasn't keeping my progesterone levels up high enough.
  • I'm sorry for your loss.

I had two miscarriages, DS, another miscarriage and then DD.  After I had Joey I thought I couldn't possibly miscarry again because they figured out the reason for the first two (low progesterone and a blood clotting disorder) and I was taking progesterone and blood thinners.

You aren't too old.  I was 36 when I had Joey and 39 when I had Allie.  You have plenty of time.

    (((Hugs)))

  • I am so sorry that you are going through this. I had a m/c before DD and we haven't tried since we had her so I don't have any experience with m/c after having a child. I just wanted to say that I am sorry that this happened and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy soon.?

  • I'm really sorry.

I had m/c, DD1, DD2, m/c, and am now pg with #3.  I think m/c can happen anytime, regardless of previous healthy pregnancies.

  • I'm so sorry.  (((hugs)))  I have a coworker who had a m/c before each of her 3 healthy babies, so I'm sure it's possible.  From what I understand, a blighted ovum (which I also had prior to DD) is a completely random occurrence and doesn't affect your chances of having another m/c, so it would seem to me like you have had awful luck, but that there may be no actual "cause" of it happening to you twice.  I definitely hope that's the case, and that you'll go on to have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy as soon as you're ready!
