gall bladder or babies??

For the past few days, I have had this pain under the right side of my rib cage that is unbearable.  It is a burning/pressure type of pain that come and goes throughout the day beginning in the midafternoon.  I havent felt the babies move in about a week so I can't tell if it is one of them causing the pressure or if it is gallstones.. Any ideas?

Re: gall bladder or babies??

  • Is it unusual to not feel them? ?A week seem like a long time to go, but then again, I didn't feel them move at all until 18 weeks, so just wondering...
  • The doctor told me to watch for a pain on the right side under the ribs, that it could be pre eclampsia.  I think I would call the doctor.

  • I would give your dr a call, it could be a sign of pre e.

    Good Luck

  • If it is your gall bladder, apparently the pain will get worse after a really fatty meal.  I had a pain like that (but, I have low blood pressure so no current fear of pre-e) my doc told me to watch for that pain after a big greasy hamburger.  If I had the pain again, I was supposed to call so they could check the gall bladder.

  • I have had pain in the same location starting at about 16 weeks.  Baby B is sitting transverse and right below my rib cage.  My OB said there is nothing to worry about, but at my next visit on Wednesday I am going to bring up the pre-e concern that others have mentioned.  I hadn't heard of that.
  • Gallbladder!  From experience my gallblader went bad while pg.  Never figured it out until after pg when I still was getting very sick and having attacks.  Does it get worse after eating or at night?  Mine started as a dull ache and a month later severe N/V and sharp stabing pains came.  Try and notice what causes it.  Most women start to have GB problems when pg or shortly after.  I got gallbladder out 2.5 wks after my c-section!  It had stones!  Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.
