My son who is almost 3 hit his 2 front teeth on the coffee table on wed. and it knocked them loose. He has had a fat lip since, although it is going down. Well, I took him to the dentist and he told me they def. were pushed back some but they wont fall out. Now, I have been reading that teeth bruise and with trauma to the teeth they will turn bluish/purple color! Has anyone experienced this?? Does it really look that bad? I just wish there was something I could do to prevent his 2 front teeth from discoloration!!
What can I do to help??

Same as PPs. My DD fell in the bathtub and chipped a front tooth a week ago. We brought her to the dentist and he said to watch for signs of pain, a pimple on the gum or it turning colors. There's nothing you can do to cover up the color if it does change. Like others said, they're just baby teeth, but I completely understand how you feel about not wanting your beautiful baby to have icky teeth until 2nd grade.
I used to teach in a school where few of the kids had dental care and they all had nasty teeth. I know it's vain, but I always worry people will see DD's chip (esp. if the tooth turns color) and think it's because she's not being cared for.
