Intro

Hi, ladies!  I wanted to intro as a new member of the bed rest group.  I'm a FTM due Sept. 4th.

I have been considered high-risk for a while due to chronic high blood pressure.  In addition, I'm 39, so it adds another possible layer of concern.  I am now dealing with my chronic hypertension along with pregnancy-induced hypertension.  My BP meds have been doubled, but they just aren't cutting it if I'm moving around.  I spent this weekend in the hospital.  My doctor was out this past week when my numbers jumped quite a bit.  Throughout the week and this weekend I saw two of his partners.  No other symptoms of pre-e at this point. 24- hour urine was great.  Baby looks great on BPPs, NSTs, etc.  thankfully!  They gave me the steroid shots this weekend as a precaution. (For mobile users, I'm 33 1/2 weeks.). I'll see my regular dr tomorrow, but as of discharge this evening I was placed on modified bed rest.

Adding to my stress, my husband left on Saturday for a business trip to Japan, getting on the plane about an hour before I was told to head to L&D.  Hopefully no other surprises like that while he's gone!

I tend to lurk more than post (even IRL I'm more of an observer than talker), but I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome.. Congrats on your little one, do you know what your having?

I am currently on bed rest for different reasons but know how much is sucks. Please feel free to join the daily bed rest check in. The ladies are great very friendly and supportive.

I wish you nothing but the best and pray your little one continues to cook a few more weeks :
