So I've begun prepping my diapers. Most instructions I've read are self-explanatory but I have a few questions regarding the Swaddlebees Simplex NB AIO's, wool covers, and All Free and Clear Military.
1. With the Swaddlebees Simplex NB AIO's it says just wash them in warm and dry them on warm. Do I only need to do this once? It just seems weird since I'm washing my prefolds so many times. I wasn't sure if they had already prepped the fabric at the factory.
2. With the wool covers (Kissaluv and Disana), I read the GMD instructions and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to wash and lanolize them several times, or just wash and lanolize once.
3. I'm using All Free and Clear Military (I made sure to get the one with the dog tags that says "no optical brighteners") for everything except the wool covers. It seems to be creating a LOT of suds in my HE washing machine. I have it on the highest water setting, and the amount of water seems more than sufficient, but I've cut back to 1/8 of the recommended amount and it's still really sudsy. I am doing an extra rinse at the end to try to get it out. Does anyone else have this problem with this detergent? Has it affected the absorbency of your diapers?
If you could share your success/failure in prepping with these items I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!
