Prefold help

I am on day 1 of cding our 1 week old. I have tried the bummis nb prefolds and the gmd prefold and neither are wide enough for me to get around her and snappi. I know they aren't too small as my lo is only 5 lb. any ideas? I have been trying to do the angelwing fold.

Our GMD newborn prefolds fit until DD was 8 or 9 weeks old... and she was almost 8lbs at birth... So something must not be right!  Take a look at this website with pictures of prefold folds on a teddy bear (it shows the folds step by step).  Angel wing is shown too.  Is this how you're trying to do it?

I never had any luck with that fold. Try the bikini twist or the trifold. Those should give more fabric to go around the waist.

I have the page saved open on my phone. Apparently I'm prefold challenged. I guess I'll just have to keep trying...good thing I have some workhorses and little joeys to get me through the learning curve.
