Charcoal Bamboo Insert Prep?

I know these need to be prepped separate from my regular diaper laundry...

But how do you ladies prep natural fibers when you just get one or two new things?  I don't want to run a whole cycle for 2 inserts.  I think I've read before that you can put them in with towels?  Does it matter what kind of detergent is in with them?  Can they just be thrown in with regular laundry, or should I stick with towels?

They can be prepped with any laundry as long as you use your cloth diaper detergent on the load. The reason most say to do towels but not clothing is because you should not use fabric softener on you cloth diapers or inserts. I know a lot of people who run natural inserts through 2 or 3 loads to get oils out and then go ahead and use them. They just change the diaper more often. Then the insert can finish prepping with your regular diaper laundry over a few weeks.
