I'm disgusted!!

Lurking over in July 13' and some horrible mother is trying to let her baby self sooth herself to sleep at 3 weeks old!! And it gets worse as I keep reading on. The post was called Baby crying help. I just can't believe how stupid someone could be. I really hope it was just MUD but this women kept justifying her ways and saying her and her husband need sleep. Are you kidding me!!

It just makes me sick to my stomach to think that there are people out there that actually do this to their babies. I really hope someone reports her if it was real.

I really, really hope it's not real. I was reading prim's post, and someone in that thread mentioned hoping to find her IP address and report her to authorities. Does anyone know if this is possible? Can the bump moderators see their IP address? I am not computer-saavy enough, but I am REALLY hoping that if it is real, CPS will be at their door ASAP.

Oh holy moly. I feel sick to my stomach right now. This is one of the few times i wish we could know who she really is so someone could report her based on those posts. I'm praying that it is fake. Praying and hoping. SO many people would do anything to have a baby and would do anything to care for that child. I've told myself I will cherish every tough moment, happy moment, gross moment, etc that I have with my baby because so many won't be able to have those moments and they want to so badly. My child is a blessing, and she will always be treated that way!

This is why I pointed out the name, and I tried to google a few versions of Harla Star hoping to find a facebook page or something. I'm not that good at internet stalking. Could the baby's unusual name help track her down? Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my previous post.

I just asked my DH about the moderators being able to get the IP address and he said they can. (I don't know about like the BMB mods, I don't really know how the forum works, but SOMEONE can see the IP address), so now we just need to figure out who and get them to look into it? I sent DH the link and he's a computer geek, I'm really hoping he can figure out something... 

I'm a terrible internet stalker so I'm useless.

Sadly, there are people who are that stupid who do procreate. I hope, if she is real, the responses she receives educate her into better caring for her baby.  

She may have a dumb social circle, who are giving her terrible advice. I've heard everything from "give the baby rice cereal the first night home and they'll sleep through the night" to "when the baby start teething, put scotch on the gums" from ignorant parents.

I have a hard time believing the baby is fed though? Maybe I misunderstood? It sounded like she was giving her cereal to "make it through the night"? I sent the thread to DH and that's how he interpreted it as well.

I didn't go back and read the post. I thought everyone was just upset about CIO. Yeahhh...not feeding a 3 week old makes you a pretty horrid person. CPS would care about that.

i had the same reaction until i read it. im all for cio at appropriate ages but even then i would not allow my child to scream for hours on end! then i got to the feeding part and had to quit reading

I really hope that post is MUD. If not that poor baby. I hope the parents are taking the baby to the ped on a regular basis, I know mine wants to see the baby a few days after coming home, two weeks, and then at a month, etc. if those parents are truly not feeding baby at night she has to be losing weight which hopefully will clue the ped into the fact that there is a problem here.

They would look past the fact that the baby is only being fed once during the night?

One way you could get the IP address....if the bump keeps records it would be in their database. I'm assuming they would keep those kinds of records. If they do it is would be easy for them to query the IP address. Someone just has to report it to the bump. I don't know if they would do anything, though.
