In case you haven't seen this photo and the accompanying article, I thought I'd share.

I'm a FTM, so I'm not close to this situation (yet), but I thought the way they planned the photo was too cute to ignore!

Sorry, I haven't done a hyperlink in this forum before. I hope this one works!
Edit: Fail. I quit.
Buzzkill! I know you're just saying it is personally annoying, but c'mon, life's not always fair, let people have a little fun with themselves!! No need to compare struggles and complaints.
I realize all children in general have unique temperaments, but as a mom of two boys myself (the sex of #3 next month is a surprise), I'd love to add another sweet mama's boy to my mix.
GSx1 - 05/13/2013
GSx2 for T&B - EDD 6/21/2015 - They're having a GIRL!
Um, as someone who went through countless fertility treatments, including IVF, and waited even longer than you to get my rainbow baby, I think you'd do well to try not to ruin everyone else's fun. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm sorry I had to go through that. But I'm guessing that family has their own, separate, set of struggles and that they're just trying to have a little fun with this. Lighten up.
While I certainly feel that we're all entitled to express our own reaction to the article, I don't think it's intended the way some PPs may have taken it. In the article the dad makes it clear that they were really hoping for a healthy baby, and the gender was clearly not their priority. They were having a little fun with what I'm sure others have commented on. I know there are plenty of people out there who have asked my husband if he's disappointed we're having a girl (which is totally inappropriate, IMO), and there were many who asked me prior to us knowing what we were having if I was hoping it was a girl. I think any parent who is blessed with a LO is genuinely hoping for a healthy baby, and the gender is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
Here's what the dad had said:
?After having four boys of our own, my wife wanted a little girl to have some female companionship. Of course, we ultimately wanted a healthy child so it was (just a) preference,? he told TODAY Moms in an email.
I certainly didn't post the article thinking it would upset anyone, so for that I apologize. I do think, however, that this family clearly values the human life regardless of what the gender is and they were merely having a little fun.
I am about to have ds#3 and I can relate to the picture.
Its like really a house full of boys! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! This is all in fun not anything to get panties in a twist. I cried to at the fact that I am out numbered in the house, no chic flicks for this momma, and legos and hotwheels everywhere!
GOOD! That's what I was thinking when I posted the article. I knew there were people out there who can relate to their intended humor in the photo! For the record, I do think all boys would be super fun. We'll be welcoming our first, a girl, and I couldn't be happier that she's just been healthy and moving constantly. I hope she'll play with legos and hotwheels once in awhile, too.
This.
I'm pretty sure real gender disappointment doesn't manifest itself in a manufactured family photo dumb butt.
Lighten up. Live and let live. Not your problem.
