High-Risk Pregnancy

Intro

Hello,

I have been lurking here for quite some time and am figuring I should finally intro.  I hope it's okay to post here.  I am 29 weeks,2 days with twins.  At my 22 week, 3 day appointment with MFM, my cervix measured 2.5 cm ( up until that point, I had been fine).   MFM said he was slightly concerned but not overly.  He wanted to check me in a week.  A week later, it was 1.1cm and I was immediately admitted to the hospital where the found I was 1cm dilated and 75% effaced.  I was on hospital bed rest for 4 and a half weeks.  I have been on bed rest at home now for almost a week and a half.   I am so terrified everyday of something happening, I can't seem to calm down.   Reading the bed rest check ins and seeing how long some ladies have made it to 34, 35, and 36 weeks who had similar situations has provided some comfort...

DS#1 born 9/23/06
Twins DS#2 and 3 born at 31 weeks, 3 days due to a short cervix on 8/2/13.

I am sorry you are going through this and welcome to this board.  I agree about the comfort piece, I am 25 weeks and my similar problem was discovered at my 20 week A/S.  I had to have a cerclage put in 4 days later when my cervix continued to shorten even with bed rest and meds.  The women here are very supportive and helpful.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Sorry to hear your dealing with this. I. Know its scary but what you have on your side is you caught it in time and your babies are now viable. Please feel free to check in the bedrest post. We have alot of mommies also carrying twins in similar situations. Best advice I can give you is stay strict to your bedrest and listen to your body :

Good luck and pray your little ones continue to bake :
