My husband and I bought a brand new home and moved in back in March. We've already had a couple problems with the air conditioner which we finally got all worked out and fixed last week. FF to this morning. I was in the laundry room and noticed that the baseboard was pulling away from the wall. I called my husband in there and he noticed it was happeing on the other side of the wall too. Then I noticed the grout on the tile was wet by the wall. He opened up the furnace closet and we find a large puddle of water. DH is a firefighter and had to leave to go to work. 24 hour shift. I called the builder and the supervisor comes out and diagnoses the problem relating to the air conditioner condensation pump.
He starts making phone calls and sets up the AC company to come out but they wouldn't give a time frame. This was at 7 am. The restoration company comes out and rips walls out on four walls surrounding this closet to dry everything out. I called the AC company to try and get a time frame around noon since we live in Arizona and the ac is currently shut off. They tell me around 5-6 pm tonight!!! I am VERY unhappy about that. So now i have no ac, walls ripped up with industrial fans blowing to dry them out which will have to run all night and an induction scheduled for Monday morning. I really fear we will be bringing our newborn home to a construction site. So frustrated!
Re: Vent! NBR
That would be nice but I have to be home when they come to fix it since DH is at work until tomorrow morning. Also DS wouldn't sit through a movie.
I'm sorry to here! Our ac broke last week, so I totally understand how you're feeling about that (my sister lives in AZ, so I know how hot it can be there, and I'm barely surviving the heat wave here.) Does someone you know have a window unit you could borrow until the ac is fixed? We got one for our bedroom, and spend most of the time hanging out in there if we need to be at home. I hope the construction end of things go quickly!
Holy cow! I'm so annoyed for you that you are dealing with this. The good thing about breastfeeding with the workers: they will most likely work faster and ask less questions
