Was told its safe as long as well ventilated. I would bet my husband wouldn't let me help though just because he wouldn't like me doing any extra work. ...
I painted baby's room when I was expecting with my first. I was about 34-35 weeks at the time. I wore a mask, had the ceiling fan on and window wide open. I was okay. Hardly smelled fumes. I also used the Home Depot paint since it doesn't smell as strong as other brands. I used the pole attachment to reach the top and bottom because squatting or bending over was out of the question. But I did it all by myself while DH napped on the couch. (We had taped everything the day before)
My dr said its totally fine, just make sure the room is ventilated.

It's totally safe. Just open the windows and listen to your body. If you feel light headed, stop.
I singlehandedly painted 3 rooms and helped with another 2 a couple of months ago when we purchased our home.

I wouldn't do it. I sold paint for years and our reps always told us if a pregnant person asked us if they should paint or not we should recommend that they consult their doctor. also just because a paint doesn't smell that bad doesn't mean you aren't breathing in chemicals. all paints will be labeled with the VOC content. the lower the better but even the zero VOC paints often contain mildewcide and other chemicals you probably shouldn't breath. adding vanilla only masks the odors, it will not help when inhaling said VOC's and mildewcides because it's not removing anything from the paint. that being said I'm sure we are breathing in worse fumes walking down the street so it's a personal choice what risks you are willing to take.

I painted my entire house this pregnancy along with the nursery. My doc so no problems with it. I of course has all the windows open. Most paints these days are low fumes anyways
I painted the trim but once dh started using the roller it got a little smelly so I felt more comfortable leaving at that point. I've been told it's ok but then again if you don't HAVE to do it...
I painted a bunch of trim in my house and still have some to go. My doctor said get low VOC paint and make sure the room was well ventilated, just stop if I feel nauseous. Latex paints generally sold for interior painting are pretty much all fine. Its the exterior oil paints, or "historical" interior paints that are oil based that you have to watch out for. Those are the ones with fumes that can make you sick and harm your baby.

I helped to paint. Painting is totally fine. Almost all paints have no VOCs now. Have fun!
this. And definitely don't get on a ladder!
