Yet another Breast Pump question

So, I finally got the info about my choices for a breast pump. I'll list the four below. Please tell me if you have any negative or positive experiences with these. FYI, I'll post on breast feeding board too.

1) Ameda Purely Yours Pump (no tote)

2) Ameda Purely Yours Pump (with shoulder bag)

3) Medela Advanced Personal Double Pump

4) Pj's Bliss E;ectric Breast pump

It looks like all four can be single or double pumped. #2 & #3 come with bags& coolers and the others don't. So, I'm already leaning towards one of those.

TIA!

Re: Yet another Breast Pump question

  • I got the Medela Advanced Personal Double Pump upon recommendation, but I have no experience with it yet. :)

  • #3 was recommended to me by 2 BF moms that I know. They both BF for a year and had no issues with it.

  • I had the Ameda Purely Yours double with DD and loved it.  Never had any issues and I used it for about 18 months.

  • I used a Medela w DS, so I went w Medela again so I could interchange parts.

  • I have #3.  I was told by the insurance lady that this was just a more generic looking version of the Medela PIS which gets amazing reviews from everyone who has ever used it.

I decided to go with it based on real life reviews & bump recommendations.

  • You're lucky that the Medela is offered by your insurance.  I can't find anyone that ours is willing to work with that has it in stock as there's a huge shortage right now.

One advantage to the Ameda that I hear is that it's a closed system so don't have to worry about contamination, cleaning, etc.  I heard the Medela can have mold issues.
