Date Night Ideas

Lately we've been careful on spending and only doing "responsible" things on the weekends--which only feel like chores. DH is in a rut and now I'm starting to follow him there. What are some things you do for fun (besides movies-we're all movied out atm)?

I am going to suggest bowling to him bc we both enjoy it. Not sure how me being 12 weeks pregnant will turn out, though :P

  • I've really been enjoying my newfound appetite with some dinners out. It's still cheaper than it was before since I'm not having a couple drinks with dinner, and I get to enjoy a night of not cooking. Ahhhhhh.

We've also been enjoying the warm weather by going to some outdoor concerts.  Lots of towns have free or cheap ones where you can pack some snacks, sit on a lawn, and enjoy some good music. There are also some fun outdoor town fests by us this time of year. It's fun to wander around and just enjoy a nice day out.

  • Last time I was pregnant, we went to a pool hall and played pool for a couple of hours!  It's pretty cheap and something we never do.    Some other ideas?  The zoo, mini golf, a picnic at a park.  Sometimes we go for a Sunday drive, and stop for lunch along the way!

I love taking walks with my DH.

We live in DC and love going to museums, walking around the monuments/parks, jazz in the garden, exploring new happy hours (obvi w/o drinking for me).  Look into 'touristy' things to do around where you live.

  • My H and I love taking walks. Sometimes we have my sister come over just so we can take a walk without DS! Hiking is cheap and awesome too!

Other ideas: drive in movies (bring blankets and treats), local treasures ( we have gardens and farms around here), mom and pop diners or dessert shops.

  • We have "adventure days". We pack a cooler with water and a lunch and we explore local state parks or state historic sites. The cost is low we usually take a tour or make a donation and we get to have together time. My favorite was touring a local cave. After we are all done for the day we get ice cream from a local ice cream shop.
