Out of curiosity, for those of you with frequent Braxton Hicks contractions, especially 2 times moms. What frequency do you/does your doctor consider normal?
I had irritable uterus with my second child, so constant BH from about 33 weeks on followed by preterm labor which naturally stopped, then giving birth at 37 weeks.
I'm hoping not to have the same experience this time around, but a recent increase in BH has me slightly concerned...
I average 2/hour most of the time, but 4/hour isn't at all rare, and I have had a few days/night/hours with more frequent BH than that.
I know most doctors have the more than 4/hour rule of thumb, but because of my condition in my last pregnancy, that didn't apply to me. So I guess I'm wondering if it does now or not.
I have a doctor appt tomorrow and will, of course discuss it with her, but just wondering about others' experiences.
Re: 29 weeks BH frequency ?
I was having about two an hour (but it was only for a couple days). I called the OB and they said I only needed to worry/come in if it was 6 per hour.
I had no other symptoms and my high risk issues have not been PTL or high BP.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

I think the general rule is 4 or 6 an hour and in a "pattern" of sorts.
Sometimes I feel like I may have more than 6 an hour, but they are very irregular and I don't feel the need to be concerned about them.
It sounds like your situation is different though, so it's hard to really say.

So this is what happened the whole last month of pregnancy with my second. Regular contractions every 5 to 6 minutes. Yes, for a month. After going in to the hospital twice when contractions seemed slightly are go get, they told me not to come in again unless something 'else' happened. At 36 weeks that was more pain and bleeding I was 3 cm dilated suddenly. Than at 37.5 weeks it was my water breaking. I had the baby that day.
Last week I had this for about five hours consistent contractions every 5 to 10 minutes. But they weren't painful so I waited it out and they stopped. I don't call my doctor because nothing else happened. It hasn't happened with that consistent frequency again, but of course I'll tell my doctor about it when I see her today!

This for me too.
It's been like this with all three of my kids. I don't even keep track how many there are unless I notice they seem regular or if I'm getting them regularly just sitting there doing nothing because every thing else seems to trigger them.
