Double Stroller Rec's

Hi ladies! Just found out we are expecting #2 and being the planner that I am I have been searching online for double strollers. A friend of mine has one of the front and back seaters (no idea what they are called but basically the kids sit one in front of the other). She likes that it is relatively thin but other than that she hates the stroller because it is so long and hard to maneuver. Based on that, I have been looking at side by side ones and am hoping you could all provide some guidance. My DD is going to be about 2.5 when the new one arrives if that helps. I LOVE my Bob but even though my DD isn't terribly tall, her head is bumping up against the canopy when it is folded in. It's already getting on her nerves and she's always pushing it around so that kind of nixed the BOB duallie from the running. Anyone have thoughts on the City Mini double or others? I would like it to be able to hold the infant seat on one side.

 Thanks!

Re: Double Stroller Rec's

  • I have the baby trend sit n stand. I effing love it. Fwiw my dd is almost 3 and DS is 4 months. His carseat snaps on either seat. We've used it a lot.
  • We got the Chicco tandem one, and it was ok while DD2 was still in the infant carrier, but hard to steer in crowds. I ran over many a toe, not all mistakenly. We then went with the Britax side by side, I think the Agile one. We love it. It folds up pretty easily, and doesn't kill you too much in the wallet.

I agree with PP, though. I would wait until you get pretty close and reassess where your first LO is at with strollers before investing in something you won't use.

  • Thanks ladies. that is good advice about waiting. I have been scouring craigs list hoping to find a good deal but no such luck yet. At this point my DD likes being in the stroller only when she gets sick of walking...or when I bribe her with cheerios to sit there quietly so mama can shop/walk/whatever. I suppose my bribery techniques could lose their appeal by that point! No point in dropping that kind of cash if it is going to be for nothing.
  • DD was 14.5 months when DS was born, so a little different situation. We got the Bumbleride Indie Twin and absolutely love it. It is a side by side, but will fit through super narrow doors. It was pricey, but it comes with all accessories, including the car seat adaptor. DD was not a huge fan of her Graco stroller, but loves the Bumbleride. It seems like she sits so much higher and she will sit for hours. It also lays totally flat, which is great for naps.
