Ugh. Diarrhea or labor? DH lvg town in 2 hours.

So, I have been up since 3:45a with painful but very sporadic diarrhea cramps (and actual diarrhea). They are not regular or even really timetable. They do make me stop in my tracks when they come and I usually hunch over and grip the nearest surface. Thiis exactly how my labor started with my 2nd - although it became regular much quicker (first cramp to delivery was 2 hours).

On top of that DH leaves around noon (2 hours from now) for an annual golf outing his office is coordinatin/hosting - 3 hours from here. He is to be gone two nights. He's not just going to play golf, in fact he doesn't play at this event. They work the event.

We knew his trip timing wasn't ideal but he doesn't set the date and I didn't expect to have these sort of symptoms show up right before he is supposed to leave! 

So frustrating. If I knew for sure I would just tell him to call it and stay, but I don't want to ask him to stay and me just be having regular old diarrhea! To be honest, if that's all it is - I'd rather him be gone.

Ugh.

Omg! That sounds awful :[ I'm sorry... If say you do go into labor in the next day or so, will they allow him to leave and go back home?

My first labor started out that way- I got lots of diarrhea and cramps... then it turned to throwing up.... then it turned to legit contractions that I had to breathe through.  Do you have someone nearby who can take you to the hospital if it continues?

I would go to L&D an hour from now and get checked -- if it's nothing DH can leave from the hospital, if it's labor he can stay.

My contrax with DS were still not in a clear pattern when I went to L&D, but like you described they were starting to really hurt.  When they checked me at hospital I was 5.5 cm.  I think I was in transition before there was a clear pattern.

Yes, he can come back -definitely, but my labor that started this way with my 2nd was started and finished in two hours and he will be three hours away by this evening.

And yes, I have a couple friends I can call if needed this afternoon (kids are at daycare and day camp) and my ILs will be here (from OOT) around 4pm (we specifically had them come for the two nights DH will be gone, just in case). But I REALLY don't want DH to miss our last baby's birth!

I may go for a walk to see if things seem to pick-up in frequency (not too far though, in case I need a bathroom!).

That's exactly how my labor started with my first too. Tough call, but I would probably make DH stay just in case. Like PP said, maybe you can get checked?
