AW: Blog a little long

I grew up with epilepsy complex partial seizures. It has been over 20 years since my last seizure, but I will be on medication for it for the rest of my life because of a congenital anomaly.

I always knew growing up that TTC wasn't going to be an easy road. The medication I take can cause neural tube defects during pregnancy I actually was on one with a higher percentage of neural tube defects, I switched when DH and I decided we wanted kids. I also was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. I went through 5 separate procedures, a medication change, doctor changes and testing before they even cleared us to try.

When we were looking to TTC, I searched the web for info about couples in our situation and what their experience was like. I came up with nothing. Because of this, I started a blog called, "Partially Complex," that documents my DH's and my journey to becoming parents and managing my epilepsy.

My hope is that this will help one couple in our situation not feel so alone.

You can check it out at https://partiallycomplexblog.blogspot.com sorry, I'm on my phone and can't make anything clicky.

Thanks and enjoy!

Re: AW: Blog a little long

  • Kld!

I'm glad that there is someone on the board who can relate!

The entire point of my blog isn't/will never be to AW myself. It was to let other couples know that conceiving with epilepsy is process with a few more hoops, but totally possible. I felt if just one person learned something from my blog or found some type of comfort knowing there were others in their situation then it was worth documenting.

I am very open about talking about my epilepsy. I was diagnosed as a toddler with complex partial seizures. If you ever have any questions you want to ask me, feel free.

My levels are at 5.1 right now and I'm getting another level check this week since I'm entering my second tri. No spells though. I feel great on Lamo. So much clearer than on Teg. How are you feeling?
