What's the deal with the IP address thing?

I have been lurking a lot and found some posts with bump jackie talking about how IP addresses were exposed then taken down however they may be given to mods in the future. Does anyone know how someone figured this out? Did a mod say something on a thread somewhere? I can't seem to find the start of this just different posts on parenting and chit chat talking about it.

Okay I figured something had been deleted somewhere. Also I din't know that it was a mod that had created AEs, that's disappointing. I read a post on chit chat directed to bump jackie asking to not have the IP address made available to mods since a lot of people bump from their work computer. Guess we will see what happens. Thanks for the input girls.
