3rd Trimester

Will I Ever Deflate??!!

I am 34 weeks and I feel like an elephant. I don't think my feet could possibly get any bigger without popping like a balloon! My rings don't fit. My bracelets and watch don't fit! I know there are other moms out there that are swollen too and I feel bad for each and every one of you!! These little bundles of joy will be worth it...but right now I don't think I will ever deflate!!

Re: Will I Ever Deflate??!!

  • I feel like I'll never deflate either!!! My feet are SO swollen! The doctor and everyone else promises me that the swelling does go down, but I'm not convinced either, lol. I guess we just have to hang in there and wait, even if it sucks!

  • I'm with you. I wish my ankles had pressure release valves.

  • I hear drinking lots of water actually helps reduce swelling. Make sure you're all staying hydrated! Won't eliminate the swelling but it it may alleviate some of it!
  • At 37 Weeks, my feet continue to grow. My coworker just told me my face is very puffy today. My doctor told me on Tuesday that it will probably just get worse until I deliver.

    Ugh.

  • Ugh me too, I hate being swollen.  Try drinking a LOT of water.  Like lots and lots, seems weird but it really will flush you out.

  • I was doing very well, or so I thought as far as swelling is concerned.

This past week the swelling has begun! I had to remove my rings and flip flops or sandals have pretty much become the only option.

  • I'm with you. I took my rings off weeks ago and then had to stop wearing a larger temporary stand-in ring when my fingers suddenly swelled even more over the course of a single morning! I swear I've worn a pair of shoes to work, slipped them off under my desk, put them back on a while later (to get more water!) and found them suddenly a half-size too small.

  • I hate that- when I take off my shoes and I can't get them on again! Ugh! I feel for you :(

  • It is pretty amazing how much weight/fluids you lose the 2 weeks after you give birth!! I LOVED getting on the scale and seeing the weight just fall right off and my face come back to normal :D It will come
  • Right there with you!!!
