The state messed up...again

We went to court back in February. The new child support was set by the judge, our lawyer sent it the DHs employer, and they started taking out the new amount. Done. Or so we thought.

A week or two ago we get a check in the mail from CS. No letter or any explaination, just a check. He called, and they told him he couldn't be paid more than a month ahead so they had to send him a check for the extra. Well, long story short, we finally figured out the people that get the orders from the judge and the people that make sure the money comes out of his check don't coordinate very well. The state never put in the new order. Had he not called who knows if/when it would have happened. They can';t make him pay "back" what they never ordered, so now he's ahead.

What I really love is that BM fought in court for more CS, then didn't notice for 5 months she wasn't getting it. *sigh*

He's been paid ahead before (also thanks to their mistakes) and she wasn't getting the extra. They were just letting the extra money pile up, thats why he got the check back. And the paperwork that came in the mail says it's effective 7/8.
