3rd Trimester

Mild cramping at 37 weeks

Anyone else have mild periodlike cramps late in pregnancy? I'm 37 weeks and the cramps are very low and mild but on and off for two days. Anyone know what causes this? Just end of labor stretching going on?

Re: Mild cramping at 37 weeks

  • Could be the very beginnings of labor.

    Practice contractions.

    Its common.

  • I'm currently 36 weeks and having the same thing. It seems to be straight across my lower stomach and it is rather uncomfortable. I'm thinking it's Braxton hicks and as long as they aren't regular I'm not concerned. Keeping an eye on it though. Glad to hear someone else is feeling the same thing.

It's normal and is your body getting ready for labor.  It doesn't necessarily mean labor is imminent though.

  • I have this too... 37.5 weeks. I think it's totally normal... Your ute is getting ready for the task at hand.

  • Also 36 weeks having the same thing... I'd classify them a little more than mild.... it's a constant heavy  low cramp that lasts a while...not in waves like you would expect contractions.  It goes away after a few hours so I'm assuming it's just my body getting prepared..

  • 35 weeks today and this has happened a few times today. Mine aren't long but not short and painful. Stopped me twice while walking today.
  • Last time I didn't have this until labour day. This time I started getting them yesterday.

Got a bit excited at first. Bah.

  • I've been having them since second trimester. Sucks, but they're normal.
