I have been getting growth scans my entire pregnancy (about every 4 weeks) because LO is measuring "small." My last growth scan was at 30 weeks and LO was measing in the less than 3 % for weight and 1% for head circum. I have my last u/s next week (week 36). Every time I go, the say she is growing, and following a curve, and bloodflow to placta looks good. My external measurements are all normal. I have gained about 16 pounds throughout the pregnancy so far.(Plus, I am 5'2 and hubby is 5'5, so we aren't exactly giants) I am just wondering what this all means. They have never used the terms SGA or IUGR, but I wonder if she qualifies? I am trying not to stress out because I know these things are not always accurate, but I am just curious if anyone has had similar experiences. This is my first and even though I am a nurse, I feel so lost!
Re: Question about growth scan results
I don't have a similar experience but my understanding is that as long as LO grows it's good. I didn't have small measurements for my DD when I was pregnant but after she was born she consistently measured around 5% for height and weight and she is almost 4. But the dr keeps telling me she is growing so that is all that matters. Each kid has their own curve.

Think about it this way: percentages are a spread, so although most babies fall at 50% (average), for every baby who is at 95%, there is another at 5%. My babies were both >99% on everything (and still are)...so that means they have counterparts somewhere at <1%. BUT...both sets are totally healthy. It is the growing and following a consistent curve for the individual child that is important.
