Intro and an NT surprise...

OMG. I am having 2 babies.
I went into my NT scan this morning praying for 1 healthy-looking baby. Heartbeat, fully formed skull, 2 arms, 2 legs. The tech put the wand on my belly and the baby was in perfect position for measuring. The tech rolled the wand a bit the get a look at my whole uterus and I saw it. A flash of what looked like another baby standing up in the background! The tech steadily asked me if this was my first ultrasound with this pregnancy and all I could reply was, "Holy crap. Was that another baby?!"
So...I have an almost-2-year old and am expecting twins! Original due date was 1/20/14 but it sounds like now I could be having New Year's babes.
Hoping to stick around and participate more. God knows I'll need an outlet!

Yes, it was! Thank you! I'm crazy excited and shocked and panic-stricken all in turns. I feel bad...I was one of the first appointments and I put them behind for the morning because it took almost 2.5 hours between the genetic counselling, the scan (x2) and the meeting with the MD to discuss what this "means" for the pregnancy. Plans to deliver at the local birth center just went straight out the window!
Me: 36 - slight DOR (AMH: 1.1), decent OAR; DH: 41 - Morphology 4%
NTNP July-Aug 2014, ATTC Sept 2014-Present
October 2014 - CP
July 2015 - Clomid + #1 IUI = BFN
September 2015 - Clomid + #2 IUI = CP
October 2015 - Letrozole (5 follies - yay!) + #3 IUI = BFN
November 2015 - CP
December 2015 - CP
February 2016 - Letrozole + #4 IUI = CP
April 2016 - CP
May/June 2016 - IVF #1 and IUI #5 (Estrace + Follistim + micro-hCG + HGH) = BFN

Thanks! There are twins on my mom's side but I foolishly always felt like they were too distant to matter much. My great-grandmother had twin sisters and my mom's cousin has twin boys.

Wow!!!! It really does throw all plans out the window, doesn't it! I am so happy for you! Just remember we are all here for each other - I went through a few days of depression after finding out but I've learned that was normal, so if you do find yourself there, please don't worry and reach out because it helps to talk it out! After a few days of realizing you can't plan life, I then became so ridiculously excited
That said, I am so so happy the scan went wonderfully otherwise!! YAY for two bibis!!!!
