Pregnancy Just Hit Me

This past week (weeks 26-27 for me) I feel like pregnancy hit me hard--I can't sleep as well, I am tired more easily, I can't exercise as much as I swear I could even a week ago, the heat is getting to me quicker, my feet are swelling easier, my back hurts more, etc etc...anyone else feel like pregnancy hit them overnight? Is this a sign of the rest of my third trimester or just a tough week?

Re: Pregnancy Just Hit Me

  • I hear ya! I feel the same. It comes and goes, every womens pregnancy is different. I'm luck,y generally speaking, have had few symptoms, but moving is become increasing difficult lol!

Now getting off the couch has become much like this.

I have had a sore belly for almost a week from the sudden growth spurt that I seem to have. The humiidity makes me want to stab ppl when they come in to my office demanding I leave my a/c safe zone.

I eat like it's nobody's business. Did takeout from this one resto that we hadn't done in a couple years. Same meal used to give me lunch the next day as it was too big.. last friday, I ate it and could have eaten seconds..

I am realizing why everyone keeps saying ' wow you are working till the end?' with such wonder in their voice, because even though I am going to do it, I could be done with it all now and I would be so happy.

  • I can relate to the eating insane amounts parts. It's like out of nowhere I need triple what I woul have before and I still feel hungry like 30 minutes later. I'm ravenous all the damn time!
  • I'm right with you.  I feel like all the sudden I'm huge, uncomfortable and I can't get in/out of bed as easy.  Getting off the couch requires every body part doing their fair share.

  • Oh man, you guys are so right about getting off the couch. I have zero ab strength and it takes several tries before I get the right angle to launch myself up!

My sister (who I see all the time) met me for lunch yesterday since I am working closer to home for the summer. When she saw me she goes "Holy crap! You are walking like a pregnant woman now!" She is right! I have got the waddle already and my hips and feet feel so sore after just one go around the mall. It is like it happened overnight though! All of a sudden, I am super pregnant.

I will say that I took a week off before my due date when I had DD and it was AMAZING!  I cannot even express how miserable I was at that point.  Something to think about if you can swing it!  ;)

I am feeling more pregnant at this point... difficult to get out of bed, lots of lower back pain,  kind of waddling after sitting or laying, some numbness in my feet.  However, as someone who's done this before... it gets way worse!  The last month is pretty rough, IMO.  So... I'm trying not to complain too much yet!

I'm in the same boat too. The last two weeks have been tough getting around and up/out of the bed/couch. I'm sure the humidity hasn't helped. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the elusive "pregnancy glow" kicks in before August when it will be even hotter and I'll be bigger.

  • Ya DH now laughs at me when I groan as I try to get off the couch. Also getting out of bed is tough too, I literally have to roll myself off the bed and hope my legs are ready to catch me. I felt so great all of 2nd tri and its like WHAM here is the 3rd tri. The weather isnt helping any either. Before pregnancy I practically wore winter clothes to work complaining about the AC. Today I am in a light t-shirt dress and even though the AC is on, I wish it was just a little higher.

I'm not sure if it's third tri or a rough week, but I am feeling the same!  I just hit week 28 today.  This past week or so have been tough. It's going to be a hard next few months!!

  • I love that puppy!! That's exactly how I feel now when I try to get out of bed or off the couch. I feel like anytime I have to use my ab muscles, it's really uncomfortable. It's getting increasingly harder to bend forward- I'm sure it looks weird how I bend at my knees every time I need to file things at work, lol.
