Time for modern medicine

We have been trying for just over 3 years now and have had no luck or even a glimmer of hope in getting pregnant naturally. Last year my doc suggested clomid after he saw my bbt charts and I didn't feel like I was ready to go the medical route yet. A year later and it's time to go for my annual visit and I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that we're going to need some help if we ever want to get pregnant. I don't really have anyone to talk to about my fertility issues, so I came for some support and maybe even an idea of what lies ahead of us on this journey. I'm kind of in a hope for the best, prepare for the worst type attitude, and would l love some insight. Thanks!

The decision to seek help can be a tough one, but it can be exciting too! For me, getting answers as to why we couldn't conceive was a sort of releif.

As for what to expect... I would suggest trying to educate yourself a bit about the process, either here or online. It could help make tests less scary. Usually the first step is getting a blood panel done, having a HSG to check and see of your tubes are blocked, and a seman analysis for your H to see if he checks out. Taking meds before you have these tests done and you know what issues you may have could be for nothing, so most ladies here will highly recomend you get them done, no matter what your doc says. Seeking out a Reproductive Endocrinologist also may give you more specialized care than a OB/GYN can give.

Welcome! During my first appointment they just asked a lot of questions about how long we were trying and when during the month, if I ever was pregnant in the past, my cycles etc. I didn't think it was too bad. Then they set me up for blood work during the beginning and end of my cycle. After that, they did some more diagnostic testing to try and get to the root cause. It really wasn't bad though. Welcome! I hope that talking with your doctor and/or seeking out a reproductive endocrinologist in your area will help you and your partner get pregnant. I think if you are at that point, you will find so much relief in having a plan and a doctor who will help you find answers. Good luck!
