I go back to work in two days and I'm not ready. Dh works 3rd shift so baby will be with him during the day. When he needs to sleep for work my mom will watch him. I know this is a pretty sweet set up but it just isn't the same as me being home with him all day. I'm already getting anxious and I've cried twice in the last two days. I go back thursday. I know this is worse for me than it will be on him. He'll be with dad and grandma. I haven't started yet but hope it gets easier fast. Anyone else back to work? How are u handling it?
Re: going back to work
I've been told it gets easier. Fingers crossed for you!
Today was my first day back! I only cried a little! I would do anything to stay home with him but its not in the cards for us right now! I'm lucky to get to go back part time for two weeks, surfing which me and duh work opposite schedules ! After that my 17 year old cousin is coming to stay for the summer! Then day care when he's 5months old!
On another note, I'm secretly thrilled dh couldn't get ds to sleep at bed time! I got to come home and snuggle with him for the 10 min it took me to put him down! Lmbo!!!!
Thankfully, my last day of work was the day before my maternity leave started; but this is because I'll be starting school back up again August 19th. It's only 3 days a week, but I'll also be needing a babysitter for at least 4-5 hours a day to study. I'm dreading the time away from DS. I have anxiety just thinking about it
I know this will benefit him in the long run though.
On the up-side, I'll be in OB for my 2nd semester of the nursing program I'm in. I'm excited to see babies being born, & to be on the other end of it all. I'm also hoping to work alongside some of the nurses who helped me deliver DS.
