I am beginning to gather some ideas for the nursery. If we have another girl, it will be easy. DD's nursery is vintage tea party/roses/bunny theme, so we would reuse that. If we have a boy, I would like to keep the vintage theme and do maybe sailboats or hot air balloons.
Anyone want to share their nursery ideas? Bonus it you link a picture or PIP

Re: Nursery theme/decor?
I want simple decor. I don't want a theme.
Something like this. https://www.uniquebedroom.com/nursery-furniture-sets/white-nursery-and-crib-bedding-interior-design/
I'm thinking about doing a frogs and dragonflies theme. The room is already painted an avocado green that would match this theme. My grandmother loved frogs and my husband's family identifies dragonflies with his father who passed away in a car crash. (Vaguely related to the dragonfly story that is given to people to help deal with loss - clicky.)
But I'm not 100% sure.
This was our nursery for DD- if this baby is another girl we might just keep this as the "nursery"....my husband really liked the cute animals in this set we got...I love my wall decals!
If we have another boy, no idea. DH wanted to do DS' nursery in a Star Wars theme, so we managed to do that without it being ridiculous or kitchy, so I might let DH call the shots again this time on the "theme."
If we have a girl, though, I'm doing a nursery inspired by "The Sound of Music," which is my favorite movie. I started pinning things a long time ago related to the possibility of ever doing one, including this green damask fabric that I'd use to do curtains to look like the ones Maria makes the children's play clothes out of. I have a ton of ideas for it, it's so silly.
(It was totally unintentional that the nursery ideas we had for a boy and a girl were both inspired by movies.)

Damnprecious- That nursery set is beautiful!
Peanut- I love the frogs and dragonfly theme, that is very special.
We moved when DD was 5 months old. The flat we live in here is rented, so I cannot do much with the wall color. Here is DD's nursery after we moved in. I since added some vintage magazine wall art and a pink and cream polka dot rug. I would take a pic now, but DD is napping and I am not jeopardizing my hour and a half "me time"

If it is a girl, we will reuse DD's nursery decor (ladybugs and butterflies). If it is a boy, we will do vintage airplanes. DH's grandfather was a fighter pilot in WWII, and I thought it would be a nice way to incorporate family history.

DD's nursery was a vintagey faded rose color with cream and brown, very girly antiques and old fairy tale illustration wall art.
DS's was very loosely outdoors theme, with PBK star blackout curtains, a rustic boat bookshelf, photographs of mountains and lakes as wall art with greens and khaki colors.
I'm a little tired of the brown variants so this time I want to do something totally different. I just have no idea what, yet! I'm a pottery barn addict so I'll probably pick some bedding from them and expand on it from there.
This is exactly what we are doing! We plan on doing some chevron and elephants too!
We're team green, so we're doing a "you are my sunshine" theme in yellow and grey. We'll be using bits and pieces from the sweet jojo zig-zag set, the grey and yellow dot breathable baby bumper, and yellow paper lanterns from lunabaazar.com. We also will lay foam tiles over the hardwood from wall to wall in yellow and grey. See those at softtiles.com.
Good luck!
This is the bedding I've set my heart on. (minus that weird turtle diaper holder and those strange wooden wall decorations.) So when baby is here and we know what sex they are we can swing it either way. Owls/bunnies for a girl, Bears/foxes/frogs etc for a boy. The room is a beige with and accent wall done with a cream colored chevron.

This was DD's nursery. We went with the pink/colorful/flower theme. Now I can't wait to paint the walls! Boy or girl next time, we're going with grey walls, and a colorful animal theme. This type of thing.
Love those elephants!

We're thinking something travel themed for either a boy or a girl. Globe lighting or mobile, map wall decal and then probably basic bright neutral colors. I have some cute things pinned that I'll add when I'm not mobile. Even though we'll be finding out the sex, I have no desire to turn a room sterotypically girly or boyy. Of course, I'm a lifelong tomboy, so that might be my childhood resentment of pink rearing its head
Here are some links to the travel ideas I like:
Globe lighting (I think this concept turned into some kind of mobile would be neat. But we also have no overhead lighting in what will eventually be the nursery, so the lights may be more practical: https://media-cache-ak3.pinimg.com/736x/62/68/23/626823ccae41e35bb55a01e73ce788fc.jpg
Map Wall (I go back and forth on how I feel about the patterns. I've also seen very plain modern two-color decals I like quite a bit): https://media-cache-ak2.pinimg.com/236x/e7/9e/00/e79e00b46c92d311af985326de951303.jpg
My husband is waaaaaay into shabby chic as a decor style, hilariously so, so anything wood-based will also be on the table: https://media-cache-ec2.pinimg.com/236x/77/ef/a1/77efa1ba1783bfc51337e773532c9fee.jpg

This is one of the sets I've been eyeballing too. We're definitely going woodland creatures, and there's 3 or 4 sets I really like (some more girly colors, some neutral). I'm lucky that my DH's Aunts will be making us a quilt for the baby. They made us a king sized one for our wedding that is absolutely gorgeous, with things like our names, wedding date, and some inspirational words sewn in the quilting, so I'm really excited to see what they come up with once I give them a little direction.
I'm obsessed over that set! I'm happy with whatever baby we get to come home with but a small part of me is leaning towards girls because I want to decorate with owls soo stinking bad.
That's awesome that your aunt is making you a quilt, I bet it'll be lovely

If it's another girl, we will put #2 in #1's current room (it's a girly african-safari theme) and #1 will get a new toddler/kid room.
If it's a boy, I think we will do a vintage airplane theme. Here are a few inspirational links:

we did this too. My DD's room is pink and green. My mom did make her a quilt with a pink and green owl on it but that's about as themed as it gets.
ADORABLE!

Here is one more boy link I forgot to include...this one had green in it as well. I think I like aqua, white & grey better though.

We are doing a Dr. Seuss theme for the nursery in "Oh the places you will go". We are getting wall quotes to put on the wall with a grey/orange/ and blue color theme.

We painted the nursery gray. I want to do gray/yellow/white chevron for the bedding. Other than that no real theme. We are renting, so I won't be doing anything theme-wise on the walls.
