Any Vertigo suffers while pregnant

Has anyone experienced Vertigo while pregnant? Any Advice? TIA

Re: Any Vertigo suffers while pregnant

  • I am on medication for my vertigo. When it hits, it is very similar to morning sickness. I had a hard time telling the two apart. The dizziness is debilitating and I can't walk or sit up. I was allowed to take my prescription during my pregnancy, but opted not to.

I did get dizzy during delivery so they gave me meds during labor for it.

  • I have a prescription for antivert and only use it if I start to feel it coming on.  Mine is because of issues in my ears I've had since I was a child.  Hope it gets better.  I usually drink water and lay down and try to focus on one specific spot in the room.  Don't close your eyes =/

  • Lurking from second tri...I had this two days ago and it totally freaked me out.  I drank a lot of water and ate a decent amount.  I made sure I went to bed early and it was gone the next day.  I have never in my life had it before and it was very scary.

  • I suffer from Meniere's Disease which is an issue with water in the inner ear.  I'm not sure if your vertigo is coming after ear ringing or anything similar, if it is I'd suggest visiting an ENT that specializes in balance disorders.  It's very possible that the fluid level alone during pregnancy has brought this on for you.  Salt intake is the most important thing to monitor.  Follow the guidelines of someone with heart disease... It's hard to do :o(.  Drinking water does help but I will say that for me there is never enough to help with the vertigo if it's bad.  However, mine is brought on b/c of a very specific reason so you may not have those issues.  There are medications you can take (ask your OB) but I've found that I mostly just have to deal with it until it's over.
  • ::Lurking:: I had it with 2/4 pregnancies. No advice. But it does go away
