I don't post here at all anymore (I had a 9/20/12 baby boy!) but I wanted to stop by to share something important. In Sept. 2011 when my DD2 (Tessa) was 13 months old she broke her leg. I had put her on my lap to go down a slide in our neighborhood, and that's how it broke. Apparently that happens all the time! (According to the orthopedic surgeon). Sure enough, a quick google search and a bunch of articles pop up about it. I had no idea! So, in an effort to help spread the word to other mommies that it is just not safe to go down a slide with your LO on your lap, I created a Facebook page called "Don't Break a Leg" that I hope you would consider "liking" and or sharing. One thing is, you'd be surprised how many moms may have heard about this, but their spouse or child care provider has no clue, and that's where an injury could occur, even if YOU are informed. So talk about it!
And if you know of a child injured in this way, feel free to share about it on the page!
