Was it the greek yogurt??

DD has been sleeping through for over a month now.  We gave her plain 2% vanilla greek yogurt for the first time on Sunday.  She woke up twice that night.  She had it again on Monday, woke up twice again.  I realized that it was the first time we gave her yogurt, and maybe this whole thing was connected... So we didn't give her any yesterday... And she STTN again last night.

Anyone think it was the yogurt, or just coincidence?  She goes down around 7:30ish at night and typically sleeps until we wake her up between 6 and 6:30am.  Both nights she woke up around 9:30pm and 2am.  She wasn't excessively fussy or anything when she got up, just nursed and fell back to sleep.  Now I'm scared to give her yogurt again because I like my sleep!

Re: Was it the greek yogurt??

  • Not sure but my sleep trumps DD's love for any food! I would ditch it at night. Maybe in the morning instead?

I know, I feel the same way...

She doesn't typically eat in the morning... We're doing BLW so she usually just gets 2 or 3 things to try at dinner time.  We only gave her the yogurt because we had pizza those nights and I didn't want her eating that (I was trying for a healthy substitution).  DH is home during the day with her now (since he's a teacher and is on summer vacation), but her naps typically fall when he's eating breakfast/lunch.  Maybe we'll just ditch it for a few weeks and then try again.

  • I would try again to see if that really are connected. More than likely not. Also, babies need whole milk plain Yogurt with fruit. No added sugars that are in the flavored stuff.

ETA it probably was the added sugar that woke her up. She had a little sugar high.

I can't find any!  I've looked for weeks, and can't find anything made with whole milk.  I can only find one or two things that AREN'T made with skim milk.  Any suggestions would be appreciated...

  • I hope it wasn't!  I gave my LO some plain yogurt for the first time tonight.  That being said, he's up twice a night anyway.  Maybe he'll STTN instead.  Cool
