October 2013 Moms

I just don't want to.

I don't know if it's because I haven't gotten the crib or any other major furniture item or if it's something else but I just haven't wanted to start the nursery. Right now it's become a storage room for all the little things or really anything in the house that has no other place to go. Some days I feel bad because I haven't started it yet and other days I just wanna say screw it and wait until I get the crib in August. I know there's a bunch of people that still haven't started their nursery but does anyone else just not wanna or am I crazy?

  • I'm not a huge fan of "nurseries". I tried to force myself into doing one with DD but said screw it in the end.

We haven't started either and we're not stressed about it.  I'm putting stuff in that room as people hand it down to us.  And we have a general idea of what we're going to do with it.  Our goal is to have it done by the time the Diaper Bash (my friends are throwing this instead of a traditional shower) happens at our house on 9/14.

  • I'm in the same boat.  I just can't get motivated to start getting the nursery ready, especially since it requires us to move all the spare bedroom furniture into what is now only an office. Also because I have to pack up all of my stuff (clothes, shoes, etc) since DH's and my stuff won't fit in the master closet together and we haven't figured out where it will go yet since DH is being pissy about having to give up the closet in the office ("his room").  Hoping to get some of this started over the long weekend since I know it will just get harder to move around the bigger I get.

Baby does not NEED a nursery. If you don't want to do it, then don't.

I haven't decided if I don't wanna do it at all or if I'm just being lazy. I mentioned not doing anything special for what will be our son's room to my partner and he looked at me like I had just kicked his puppy. Time will tell I suppose.
