Trying to Get Pregnant

OPK Question

Once you get a positive OPK, do you continue testing until it turns negative again? Is there any benefit to knowing how long your surge lasts?

Re: OPK Question

  • Yes I do.  I tend to O about 48 hours after my last positive, so if I know how long my surge is, I can guess when I might O.

  • Yes, I test until I get a negative. Usually it is the next day for me, sometimes two days after.

Yes, I usually get 2 or 3 positives before I get a negative so it helps me get a rough estimate of how much time I have left until I ovulate.
  • Thanks! This is my first cycle of temping and OPK's so I'll plan to keep testing so I can look for a pattern in future cycles.
